The Genus

• Reworked the design for displaying the sender of a message
• Added dutch version of Terms of Service

It's now possible to send messages to the Genus from the Android & iOS apps.

To send a message go to a user and tap the "Send message" button next to the "Video call" button. Once the Genus user answers the message, you'll get a notification and see the answer on the home screen.

Other updates regarding the phone apps:

• The design of the iOS app has been improved to align better with the Android app and implement the new Genus corporate identity.
• Fixed a bug where you'd see a "Could not load notifications" message on the bottom of the screen.
• Text in buttons on Android should scale better on phones with larger texts enabled.

The Genus now supports enterprise wifi. This is configurable on the Genus itself as well as in the deployer.

In the business portal > community configuration, there is now a dedicated wifi card where you can configure the enterprise network. Note that the enterprise wifi will only be configured on Genus devices updated to the latest app version.

Before using the Genus you must now accept the Terms of Service. Optionally you can agree to anonymously share the sensor data of the Genus to improve Genus algorithms.

When using the Deployer app, you can accept the Terms of Service for all devices you're deploying / transferring.

The updater app has been updated to improve the updating and deployment process. When the internet connection is being used a lot (e.g. when deploying 30+ Genus devices at the same time), the app might sometimes fail to update or gets stuck due to various reason. This update contains a lot more retries, fallbacks and progress to let you know the actual status instead of guessing. 

Changes

• Added automatic retry, which means if the download of an update fails, it'll retry multiple times instead of failing directly
• Added download status of an update (you will now see the download progress in % as well as the speed in MB/s)
• Added button to automatic setup to easily send logging to us
• Added status of updates to automatic setup (If the updater app or the frame app is updating, you will see the status we receive from the updater, so we can show if it's downloading or installing, as well as the download speed and how much % is downloaded)
• When deploying Genus devices, the photos will automatically retry if the download fails. Also, download progress and speed will be shown to stay up-to-date with what's happening.
• Fixed issue where multiple updates would start at the same time, competing for whom gets to update
• Various other improvements to make sure the update / deploy process is smooth

• After pressing the contact button, the UI should respond 0.5 seconds faster now.
• It's now possible to disable the contact button of a Genus. A message can be configured to be shown when the button is pressed. This is useful in scenarios where the Genus is only used for social purposes. The message will disappear automatically after 15 seconds.
• Fixed a bug where, when setting up UMO for the first time and directly selecting it as active integration, the configuration couldn't directly save.

• Added a new way of determining the time zone of a Genus by introducing the Genus time zone server.
• The time zone of the Genus is now stored on the Genus server so future push messages can take into account the time zone of the user. This way it can be avoided to send push messages at night when the user doesn't want to be interrupted.
• IMEI of the GC300 is now stored on the Genus server for better support.
• Added software demo labels to specific Genus devices that may only be used for demo purposes.
• Optimised networking on boot up of the Genus.

• Fixed a bug where the night screen could be disabled between the scheduled start date and 0:00 when a person was detected under certain scenarios.
• The Genus now automatically updates when connected to eSIM 4G.

We've added the ability to livestream to clients using the portal, so you can say something to all clients of a community or have a workshop with specific clients in a community. This functionality can be used in the Community Portal by going to the Users page and either using the "Livestream to Community" button or selecting specific clients and use "Livestream to selected clients". This will start a livestream, you can choose if clients must accept the livestream or if the Genus should join the livestream automatically. Note: you can speak, show your camera and also your screen for clients, but you cannot see the clients nor hear them.

You have the option to share your screen in a livestream

Aside from telling something to all your clients, you can also share your screen to show them a video, a presentation or anything you could think of.

To improve alarm reliability, we have changed the way the Genus sends alarms. When the Genus can’t reach any servers to raise the alarm, it’ll retry every 15 seconds until it succeeds raising the alarm.

• The items shown in "Connect" such as "Phones", "Communities", "Other Apps", "Buttons" can now be dynamically shown / hidden based on community settings.
• The day start screen can now be dynamically shown / hidden based on community settings.
• On the "Reset Genus" page, you can now also reset all photos and reset all connected phones. Resetting the photo's will restore to the photo's configured in the community configuration.
• Removed the message "Genus service is not reachable".
• The "Internet not available" message will nog only be shown when the night screen is not shown.
• You can now perform a system test when the Genus is already configured by going to "Settings > System Status" and scrolling down to tap the button "Perform system test".
• The battery percentage is now shown in the Menu.

To avoid sleep disruptions the following changes have been made:

• Removed the white screen that shortly shows after updating the Genus.
• Removed the notification sound that was played when the Genus is updated.
• The "Updating Genus" screen is now dark instead of light.

Other improvements to the updating process:

• When the Genus boots-up and internet is available for the first time, it will automatically update itself.
